Actions and the roadmap
Updated:
Action cards are derived by rules from a published measurement. Your team plans, starts, completes or dismisses each one, with a reason, in the Action Center.

The "Actions" section is the measurement's answer to the question "what should we do now?". It has four screens: Opportunities, Roadmap, Action Center and Next Up.
Where do the cards come from?
Every action card is derived by rules from a published measurement: a finding, what that finding means, and a recommendation that follows from it. Nobody writes a card by hand; the same measurement produces the same cards every time. A card carries these headings:
- What did we find? The measurement result the card rests on.
- What does this mean? The interpretation of that result.
- What do we recommend? The work to be done.
- Why this action? The reasoning behind the recommendation.
- What do we measure next? Which measurement will show the effect of the work.
- Evidence strength: an explanation of how strong the evidence behind the card is.
The Roadmap's cards are for reading; they cannot be edited. A recommendation is not a guarantee of a result.
Action Center: your team's decisions
The decisions your team makes about a card are kept in the Action Center. A card moves through these states:
- Suggested: it came from the measurement and no decision has been made yet.
- Planned: put on the team's agenda with "Plan".
- In progress: work started with "Start".
- Completed: work finished with "Mark complete".
You can drop a card with "Dismiss"; this requires you to write a reason. Decisions are never deleted after the fact, only new records are added, so who decided what and when stays visible. Using these buttons requires the analyst role or higher.
When is completed work measured?
A card marked as completed shows as "Awaiting re-measurement". The work's effect on the answers is read in the next published measurement made with the same question set. A single measurement cannot compare before and after.
If a card calls for content, you can start a content job from inside the card (see Content drafts and approved facts).
